For Carey.

Carey asked me to take a picture of the two of them together and this is about as good as it gets. Normally, you can't get him to sit with her for 5 seconds without freaking out and playing their normal game of her nosing him, he then snaps and swats at her. Nose, snap, swat. Nose, snap, swat. They'll keep doing it until one of us yells "KNOCK IT OFF, YOU TWO!"

Tell me funny stories of your pets, past and present.

They both look pissed! But beautiful. My dog and cat play a similar game, except the cat goes after the dog's tail.

They were both super tired Momma. They both just wanted to go to bed which is why they were resigning to tolerate each other within such close capacity.

*smooch* Thank you, honey. I needed the smile.
I want to cuddle up next to both of them and give them kitty smooches (not to be confused with Tkit smooches) and puppy smooches.
They are beautiful. Must have some good looking parents. *wink*

Awwwwwwwwww how adorable! I'm just amazed that the two of them are close together. I still haven't attempted to let Nick loose with the cats. Eek! Your picture gives me hope :-)

They look drugged! It's nice that they CAN get along, even if they don't always.

Our cats are spazzes, especially Bartelby. He came from a litter at my BIL's house. We choose him first out of the litter of four because he was a tiny kitten, went up the the HUGE black lab of the house and stood on his hind legs, nose to nose with the big lab, ready to do battle. That was one brave kitten.

So we took Bartleby and Loki to our house right after they were declawed. Sarge, the big black lab, also came to stay with us for a few days due to yellow dog Savannah being in heat. Giant Sarge followed those kittens around, giving them 10 minute baths until they looked like drowned kittens. Sarge is such a good papa...even to cats.

Glad it made you smile, Carey. I would highly suggest the kitty smooches but the puppy smooches? Well unless you have a high tolerance for morning breath, I would advise against it. Her breath is enough to burn your eyebrows off.

And Kim, she is constanly grooming him; when he'll sit still, of course. I don't know how he can stand it!

Oh so cute!

My kitty (Harley) used to swat my doggie (Bingo) all the time! He would always stand at the top of the stairs or in a doorway and would not let Bingo pass. Bingo would cry like a baby and Harley would hiss and swat! I miss my kitty. He got cancer last year and we had to put him down. *pout*

My oldest cat, who will be 20 sometime this summer (*boggle*) can speak dog; she does the dog greeting ritual perfectly. This totally baffles visiting dogs. Rarely, rarely is there a dog she cannot befriend.

Funny story: When my middle daughter turned 7 we threw her a big party and invited all the girls in her grade. At the appointed hour, a bunch of cars drove up and dropped off various little girls in party dresses. The little girls all stood in a clump at the end of the driveway and wouldn't come any closer. So I went out to see why.

Our cat Kitty Kate had brought DD a present. There was a fairly large, decapitated rabbit laying on our front steps, dripping blood down the steps. Very macabre.

I ditched the rabbit and then the girls would enter the house.

The cat never put a full grown rabbit on our doorstep before or after--it was a one time birthday special!

What cuties!

When we first got Bagheera, she was very rambunctious. Our American Eskimo (Bijou - RIP) tried to treat her like a puppy, but it didn't really work. Anyway, Gheera used to like sitting on the coffee table and waiting for Beej to go by. Then, she'd jump on top of the poor dog and go for a brief, but very fast ride to the other side of the living room. Poor dog.

DD had a special connection to our yellow cat, Baby (RIP). He was very chatty. He talked to DD all the time. Her first word, spoken to the cat, was "mow". She also used to say "wuh-wuh" to the dog.

How cute. They look exhausted!

My parents cannot use the word "squirrels" in front of their Rottweiler and chocolate Lab or else the pooches just go wild.
