We're not going.
Long story short. It's too fast. The industry for DH isn't there AND, they have to call my boss here. I gave them three other references but they would have to call my boss here. That's BEFORE they offer me the job. If I DIDN'T get the job? My life of hell would go from a 10 to eleventy billion and I would have to quit almost immediately. Plus, who says that Tom would even give me a good reference. He could throw me under the bus down there just to keep me here.
So, we're not going. However, we're going to keep looking. *sigh*

Puffy, I am keeping positive. We are going to get out of here. My husband knows how miserable I am at work. Carey and I are virtually on the same level of hatred of our jobs, just for different reasons.
It will come. All in good time. I spoke at length with my parents this morning and they felt we were looking in the wrong places. My father, who is a brilliant man and who's opinion I trust almost implicitly, suggested that we look in Charlotte, North Carolina. A quick search revealed SEVERAL paralegal jobs, a fantastic housing market and Charlotte is considered the finacial hub of the south. Hmmmmmm. We may be onto something. However, we're going together. None of this one then the other crap. We've got plenty of time to look around. Strangely enough, I am not disappointed. Just want to get the ball moving in a direction AWAY from upstate New York.
Timing is everything, and moving smart is the way to go. Sucks though, to be so close and have to let it go. Smart, but still sucky.
Charlotte sounds interesting. Isn't it part of some "golden triangle" of cities?

I am looking at possibly moving to Charlotte in about two years. Maybe we can move together! :D

Charlotte-Durham-and Raleigh are the Golden Triangle. I have friends who live there and it is much cheaper and they love it.
