Tennessee, here we come!
In the spring, my DH always has audits to do. Strangely enough, two of the several offices he has to do this year are in Kentucky and Tennessee. So for our anniversary in June, I am going along so we can check out Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville. We have been doing a great deal of research into housing prices, job markets, moving calculators, writing off moving expenses, etc. I leaked the info to my family who thought the idea was 'brilliant!!' His family will not hear about this until everything is set in stone and then we will deal with the fallout. And there WILL BE fallout. I can only imagine the enormous tantrums that his family will throw when they find out.
That aside, it's very exciting to think we will be out of here at some point!! It can't be soon enough.

ooh, oooh, ooh, I vote Nashville. Seriously. It's gorgeous, has culturey stuff, pro sports, and good food. Knoxville would be second. Lexington is nice, but sort of eh. Never been to Louisville in the daylight and Memphis is just icky.
Have a good trip.
Kim, thanks for your input! Nashville and Knoxville are 1 and 2 on our list. I can't wait!!! I've been to Tennessee before in April and it was THE most lush place I have ever seen. Just beautiful. The no state income tax, real estate prices, weather and sailing really made Tennessee a no brainer for us.
Yay for you. I'm so glad to read that things are falling into place for you both. *smooch*
Knoxville is such a pretty place. That's where Vols lives. We went there last year for a 10K run. Just so pretty.
Very exciting T-kit. And, you'll be just a few hours drive away from me.
What I forgot to mention to you guys is strangely enough? There is a position both in Nashville and Knoxville with the U.S. Attorney's office, doing what I do now with no supervisory duties. Slight and I mean just a slight paycut. DH wants me to call them today. EEEEP!
Great! Sounds like you are definitely in a good place mentally and very ready for this change!
Yes, Tkit, call today. *points stern finger*
Okay, well I called and as soon as I told them I was the supervisor and had 11 years experience in forfeiture, they wanted my applications immediately.
Has anyone ever had the feeling when you were about to do something crazy and outside your comfort zone, you immediately had to poop?
The applications will go in tomorrow morning.
I think I am going to be ill...
That's a good "ill" feeling! This is a big step, you SHOULD feel something!
LMAO. Yep, I get the poop feeling every single time I get nervous or anxious or anything like that. *giggle*
I applied. DH and I talked about it last night and without hesitation he told me to go for it. If I had to move first, well then so be it. At least one of us would have secure employment. I would also get to keep all of my time in, all of my vacation time (four weeks) and benefits.
We will NOT be paving the driveway. Heh.
Carey, I *knew* you would understand the pooping thing. LOL!!!
That sounds fabulous, TK! A job in your field where you get to keep your time & benefits! That sounds perfect! Maybe the slight pay cut and the no state taxes thing will set each other off?
I have a nephew who lives near Nashville. AnotherKim lives near there too.
Cool, cool, cool! Changes are scary, but this is going to be so positive for you. LOL at the "not paving the driveway."
It's all so exciting t-kit and best of luck to the two of you!
This sounds wonderful! I wanted to make a playful comment about the driveway, but I see you got to that eventually!
Isn't moving exciting? Even the possibility and the daydream of moving...?
