Thea is really sick.

*sobs* I don't know what's wrong with her. *sobs* She's thrown up about 12 times since I have been home from work. Yellow bile and she acts as though she's choking before she throws up. She is up to date on all her shots. In fact she was just in on Saturday for her yearly check up. I have been in contact with the vet. If this continues through the evening, we will be at the emergency vet later. Please keep her in your thoughts. I just don't know what I would do if I lost her. At age 15 years, I could handle it better. At age 16 months, well...I just don't want to think about it. *sobs*

{{Hugs}}

With what you're describing, I'd go to emergency now and ask for an x-ray. Labs sometimes teethe longer than some other breeds, and they're born to mouth things, anyway.

Since this was rapid onset I'd guess she swallowed something she shouldn't have.

I'll pray for her. I hope she gets better soon.

Watch her hydration level. If you pinch some skin on the top of her front leg, for instance, it should pretty quickly lose the indent when you let go. If it doesn't, she's lost hydration. Get her in then so they can get her on fluids, if necessary.

Good luck. {{hugs}} again.

Good lab thoughts headed your way. In my uneducated opinion, I agree with Mystic: go to the emergency vet now and it sounds like she ate something bad for her.

She's going to be fine. I waited until 8:30 or so and then we went to the emergency vet. It turns out that she is coughing, not choking and has a respiratory infection. You know how we as humans get into coughing fits and sometimes feels as though you are going to vomit from coughing so hard? Well that's what was happening to her. No fever. No pain. Just a sore throat. *RELIEF* Her attitude never changed except for she felt bad that she had gotten sick on the mudroom floor prolly 20 times in all. Scary stuff. The vet did comment on what a wonderful dog she is. I know, I replied, she's my pride and joy. Thanks for the thoughts you guys. I was scared to death last night. Whew.

*big big hugs* I'm so glad that she is okay. I know what it feels like to panic over the babies. It's so hard because they can't tell us what they are feeling. I'm so happy to hear that she is okay. My heart dropped when I read your original post. *smooch*

I'm glad to hear she is feeling better. A similiar thing happened to my kitty and I made an appointment for 24 hours later. She was sick and pathetic for 20 hours. She would lick water from my finger and throw up and come nuzzle me for more water.

Then 4 hours before we were taking her to the vet, she got better.

Guess she hated the vet.
